Tarot readings have always been a mix of fascination and skepticism for me. I use readings as a form of entertainment rather than believing it for truth. Over the years, I've had readings that left me feeling empowered, some that made no sense at all, and a few that genuinely spooked me. Here’s a look at the best and worst tarot readings I’ve personally experienced.

The Best Tarot Readings

  1. The Perfect Match

There is one reader that I have gone to a few times. When it comes to my love life, he always provides me with two or three options. Two always remain constant. One would have dark features, yet still have light skin, who comes from a family of wealth. The other one has lighter hair and comes from a family that is slightly “hippy-ish”. Now the third one comes up every so often in the readings. When I was younger it was said to be someone I already knew. Now as an older girl, the third one is someone the reader cannot detect but someone I would know once I met them. It is interesting to see how my cards always pulled out the same two options. It is also crazy to see how my life choices affect whether a third one appears. He is my favorite to go back to every once in a while, to see who the new matches may be.

  2. A Sense of Peace in the Chaos

I once had gone to a psychic convention for fun with my mother. The particular weekend I was going, there was a lot of chaos in my life. I had one reader who did not know me, mention the chaos happening. She had a special loved one come through for me, and amongst my reading she had told me that although time is hard, everything will fall into place. There is love surrounding me. Usually, I am skeptical of readings and use it as entertainment. Yet, this girl knew nothing about me and was very detailed on what was happening in my life and provided me with insights that was a bit of courage for me to keep pushing through.

  3. Reassurance of Success

This is not one particular reading, but a combination of all of them. As a college student, I am always curious about my future and my career. Every time this aspect of life comes up in the cards, I am always reassured success is coming my way. I grew up with very little money, that they always share with me that my modesty when it comes to money is very attractive for when I am successful and full of it. Which is very encouraging as a lost soon-to-be post grad student.

The Worst Tarot Readings

  1. Singer to the Spirits

While at the psychic convention mentioned earlier, I had a reading done before the expert. This first woman was chanting to gain energy for my reading. Out of all my times I ever had my cards read, I have never experienced anything of these sorts. To me, it felt like a joke and this woman was just there to take people’s money. As she was reading she was very off on many things and was not close to who I was as a person. Although the only perk that she had, was that she dd not try to justify her predictions with reassurance from me.

  2. Palm Reader or Overpriced Scammer?

I was with a friend of mine and we had wanted to get our cards read. The only place accepting walk ins was severely overpriced, so we settled for the cheapest reading. The reading was very vague and all over the place. Between miscommunication amongst my friend and I, we had even paid her more than expecting and we were not able to receive a refund. So, my friend had gotten read a little more, but it went around in circles and was very contradictory between everything she was saying. Although my biggest takeaway from this reading is to not skip the opportunity to travel for leisure that is soon in my future.

Final Thoughts

Tarot readings have been a mix of inspiration, mystery, and occasional nonsense for me. Some have given me the courage to make big moves, while others have left me scratching my head. But no matter what, I’ve learned to take them as a tool for reflection rather than absolute predictions. Whether the cards make you laugh, cry, or roll your eyes, they always make for a great story!
